The client and I agreed we liked the fourth, most finished idea but also the dynamic pose of Barda in the second, so I combined them for the final pencils:

I've never been one for drawing my inspirations from other people's characters, so in general my portfolio work is unusual in that way from many in the comics industry. But, since after doing some convention sketches at the San Diego con I've found myself able to approach this kingd of thing with a lot of joy, so I have been trying to draw a "Con Sketch" regularly and post to eBay, here are some examples:
